TONOX Co., Ltd. develops laser-based road surface profiling systems and tunnel lining surface measurement systems, and installs them on measurement vehicles and road-rail vehicles.
Our road surface profiling system measures the three elements of pavement distress (cracking, rutting and roughness/evenness) at speeds of up to 80 km/h, so no traffic control is required even on expressways.
We also undertake contract measurement of road tunnels, as well as analysis and digitization services for road surface condition and tunnel lining surfaces, and offer integrated expertise from system development to data analysis.

This technology is available as the Tx-IRI system in two types: a dedicated vehicle type and a vehicle-mounted type. The vehicle-mounted type can be installed on ordinary vehicles. In March 2023 it was approved as a New Technology Utilization System by the Technology Review Committee of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and is listed in the MLIT "Inspection Support Technology Performance Catalog".
