To measure the unevenness of pavement surfaces easily on site, TONOX has developed the "Tx-Handy Profiler", a hand-pushed measuring instrument. It measures IRI, roughness (evenness) and rutting, and can also be used for as-built measurement of repair work for NEXCO.
A high-precision gyro detects the angle difference between the front and rear wheels and outputs the road surface height (profile) at 1 cm intervals. The measured profile is displayed immediately on the PC screen and recorded in CSV format, so the data can easily be used in spreadsheet software.
